Ivine, California-based Roland DGA, a global manufacturer of wide-format inkjet printers and 3D printing devices, announces that graphics printed with its new TrueVIS VG2-640/540 wide-format eco-solvent inkjet printer/cutters with TR2 ink are approved for both the 3M MCS Warranty program and the Avery Dennison advanced ICS Performance Guarantee.
In each case, rigorous testing was done by the media manufacturers before they would give their respective warranty blessings.
“The 3M MCS Warranty program approval provides VG2 users printing TR2 ink on 3M media with added assurance that they can count on the quality and durability of every print they produce,” says Daniel Valade, Roland DGA product manager, color products and cutters. “They get extra peace of mind, knowing that the output their VG2 printer/cutters create will not only be visually stunning, but also long-lasting.”
According to Roland, in developing the VG2 series it focused on dozens of fine details that ensure increased efficiency and ease of use as well as unsurpassed print/cut accuracy and imaging capabilities and a host of other technological advancements. It says the VG-640 and VG-540 are engineered to take advantage of the superior color reproduction and wide color gamut provided by a new generation of TR2 ink, which includes new orange ink.
Avery Dennison’s ICS Performance Guarantee provides up to four years of warranty protection for outdoor printed graphics and up to seven years for indoor graphics.
“This is an important assurance for those who will be using our next-generation VG2 printers with Avery media,” notes Valade. “What’s more, after rigorous testing, Avery has set the recommended outgassing time for this combination at just six hours—a 75 percent reduction in the timeframe recommended for traditional solvent technology. That means businesses with tight project turnaround times, like vehicle wrap shops, can easily perform same-day printing and lamination while retaining a full graphics warranty.”
