Rayzist will host two sandcarving basic workshops this fall; the first one being October 3-4 and the second November 14-15. Both workshops are designed to teach basic to intermediate sandcarving techniques and take place at Rayzist headquarters, 955 Park Center Drive in Vista, California. Attendees will receive personalized instruction on a range of topics, from producing a photomask to creating multi-stage carvings.
The Sandcarving Basics Workshop on October 3-4 is from 12 to 5 p.m. on October 3 and 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. on October 4. The November workshop is from 12 to 5 p.m. on November 14 and 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. on November 15.
“The intense two-day hands-on workshops will provide you with skill, techniques, knowledge, and motivation for the sandcarving industry,” says Liz Haas, Rayzist sales representative. “Learn how to add additional value to each item with light frost and color-fill techniques, single, and multiple color applications.” According to Haas, attendees will learn to sandcarve on various materials such as optic crystal, wine bottles, metal, and stone. In the class, students will produce six showroom-ready items that can be put on display. Each student will also stage carve a 16-stage eagle head on a 1/2"thick Starfire glass award.
The workshop is $560 per person with a $50 discount for additional persons in the same group. The class features a continental breakfast, along with lunch and snacks, hands-on instruction, class materials and handouts, a small class size of 10 students, and a 1:1 ratio of sandcarving cabinets to students.
