IKONICS Announces October Sandcarving Workshops


IKONICS Imaging announces its upcoming sandcarving seminars as a part of its College of Photoresist Sandcarving.

These professional-level glass etching seminars will educate students in the art and business of creating high-profit, etched glass products such as awards, corporate gifts, individual gifts, and signage, the company says.

Hosted by Professional Mask, 6890 Hudson Village Creek in Kennedale, Texas, Advanced Sandcarving Halftones is October 10-11. Due to popular demand, this small, hands-on class will cover sandcarving halftones (photographs), including artwork set-up, film output, proper exposure, application, and sandcarving.

This professional-level, hands-on sandcarving seminar will educate students in the art and business of creating high-profit, etched products for several industries, including awards and engraving, corporate gifts, promotional items, and more. 

According to the company, the class will also:

  • Discuss the basics of creating optimum artwork for sandcarving. Learn helpful tips and tricks when creating artwork for halftones, stage-carvings, shading, or working on compound curved surfaces.
  • Produce photoresist films with RapidMask, along with other washout films including R-Series, UltraPeel, and more.
  • Personalize or etch logos and commemorative wording on a variety of substrates including: glass, ceramic, stainless steel, rock, etc. You’re welcome to bring your own unique substrate to personalize.
  • Experience equipment in the sandcarving industry and discuss all equipment utilized in the sandcarving process. Both low-cost equipment and high-production equipment will be available.
