Breaking News: NBM and Graphics of the Americas to Co-Locate in 2017

National Business Media and Graphics of the Americas are combining forces in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, in 2017 to co-locate their trade shows there.

THE NBM SHOW, co-located with the Graphics of the Americas Expo & Conference, will be February 16-18, 2017, at the Greater Fort Lauderdale Broward County Convention Center. The joint announcement was made at the Miami Beach Convention Center, where the GOA’s 2016 expo is currently taking place.

“We’re excited,” says Dave Pomeroy, NBM’s vice president of publishing and markets. “We think we found something here that is really going to be mutually beneficial—that we can combine the energy and attendance from GOA with THE NBM SHOW in Fort Lauderdale next year, and bring something unique and something complementary to both events.”

THE NBM SHOW serves the markets covered by National Business Media’s three graphics-oriented magazines—A&E, Printwear and Sign & Digital Graphics. THE NBM SHOW is held at several venues throughout the country each year and each show draws thousands of attendees.

Graphics of the Americas says it expects about 7,500 graphics professionals to attend this year’s convention in Miami. The show not only draws attendees from the U.S. but also South and Central America, as well as the Caribbean. “We think that what (NBM) brings to the table and what we bring to the table to our target audiences is very important,” says James Martin, the GOA’s president and CEO. He noted that because of ongoing construction in and around the Miami Beach Convention Center it made sense to move next year’s co-located show 20 miles north to Fort Lauderdale.

Christine Roberts, vice president of the greater Fort Lauderdale Convention and Visitors Bureau, says her team was thrilled to be getting the joint convention and she noted that her city’s airport, the Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport, serves as a bit of a South American hub for South Florida, with many daily flights making it easy to go back and forth for convention goers from outside the United States.

“The decision to co-locate THE NBM SHOW with Graphics of the Americas in 2017 was made with our exhibitors and attendees in mind,” says Pomeroy. “This is a partnership that will bring something unique, something complementary and something different to each event. GOA and THE NBM SHOW are events that each stand strong on their own, but together they offer a whole that is larger than the sum of its parts.”
