A&E Exclusive: Condé Hosts Christmas Sublimation Contest

Get creative with sublimation this holiday season for a chance to win big in the Christmas Décor Contest. Condé Systems Inc. is offering digital decorators the chance to showcase their sublimated creations and win up to $250 in Condé account credit.

Launched on November 13 and ending on December 22, the Christmas Décor Contest will award three individuals for the best holiday-themed items.

“We’re looking for something off-the-wall—something we haven’t thought of,” Condé Social Media Manager Bobbi McMullen says, recalling a memorable creation from a customer in a previous contest—a two-sided sublimated pinwheel cut from ChromaLuxe panels—as an example of the types of creative submissions that stand out. “Sometimes, you get ideas that lead to a new product. If you have a great idea, it could be worthwhile for everyone.”

The Christmas Décor Contest requires a sublimated Condé product be incorporated in the overall presentation, however, due to stipulations regarding contest rules in the U.S., there is no purchase necessary to enter. To give customers the chance to participate, the company is offering entrants a free acrylic ornament (ACR317) or will refund the price of the blank for an account credit, available through your Condé account representative.

“I picked out a specific ornament for the contest if they want to sublimate it. However, I don’t want people to think it’s specifically an ornament contest,” McMullen tells A&E magazine. “Sublimation can just be a small part of the bigger presentation if you come up with something creative with a unique display.”

To enter, participants must take a picture of a sublimated Condé product and upload it to the Client Gallery on the company’s website before 12 a.m. CST/11 p.m. MST on December 22.

The prizes include:

  • First Prize: $250 Condé account credit
  • Second Prize: $100 Condé account credit
  • Third Prize: $50 Condé account credit

Although existing works may be submitted, McMullen explains that the selection panel consisting of several Condé employees prefer entrants create new artwork for the contest.

Entrants must submit only artwork for which they own the copyright. “We want your design but you do have to have the copyright for it. We want to be careful about things like copyrights, but other than that, anything goes,” she stresses. “Show us your stuff. We can’t wait.”

The Christmas Décor Contest is just one of the many larger contest the company hosts throughout the year in addition to its Weekly Gallery Contest, awarding a $25 credit every Friday to the best product photo posted in the Condé Client Image Galleries. On November 9, Condé announced the winners of its most recent contest, the Halloween Décor Contest. The prizes were awarded to the following for the best picture of a Condé product sublimated with Halloween-themed artwork:
