Social marketing is free on Instagram, Facebook, Snapchat, YouTube, Twitter, Etsy, and Pinterest — why not use it? The truth is that you need to choose a target market and find out where they hang out. Start with what age demographic you are looking to sell to. For example, teenagers tend to use Snapchat; corporate accounts tend to use LinkedIn; sports moms tend to use Facebook.
If you’re trying to market everything to everyone, you’re going to have a hard time. Narrow down to your best opportunity and go after that. The data is out there; it can tell you what time each demographic shops and when they purchase. The million-dollar question is, what does your perfect customer look like and how do you get your products in front of them?
