Term of the Week: Heat Press

The Term of the Week is a weekly feature where A&E turns to industry experts to define common tools, processes, language, etc. used in the awards, engraving, and personalization industry, including terminology within the business realm. Contact Printwear's digital content editor, Marley Jeranko, if you're interested in contributing and for an opportunity to be featured in our daily eNewsletter.

A device used to press transfers onto fabrics and other substrates through an adjustable heat setting, time, and pressure. There are generally three designs: swing-away, drawer, and clamshell. Specialized presses are also available for odd-shaped products, such as mugs or hats.
