Term of the Week: Computer Graphics

The Term of the Week is a weekly feature where A&E turns to industry experts to define common tools, processes, language, etc. used in the awards, engraving, and personalization industry, including terminology within the business realm. Contact Printwear's digital content editor, Marley Jeranko, if you're interested in contributing and for an opportunity to be featured in our daily eNewsletter.

Computer graphics are known as photographs (bitmap image) and illustration/patterns, also once known as clipart (vector image). This is now known typically as Graphics (this then carries into Graphic Design). Graphics in this method are the backbone to any decorating or personalization from laser engraving to full-color dye-sublimation.
