THE NBM SHOW Marks a Quarter-Century Coming to Long Beach
With mild August temperatures on the outside to match the perfect 72 degrees inside, THE NBM SHOW recently visited Long Beach, California, on the fifth stop of its 2019 tour. A staple of THE NBM SHOW schedule since 1994, the Long Beach Convention & Entertainment Center was the site of not only THE NBM SHOW but also WRAPSCON, an event in its fifth year that is dedicated to the world of wraps.
Hundreds of attendees who are readers of A&E, Sign & Digital Graphics, and Printwear visited with equipment manufacturers and distributors, enjoyed hands-on demonstrations in the exhibit hall, and had the opportunity to take advantage of free classroom learning outside the hall.
“The attendance, interest, and activity in Long Beach was proof—once again—why this is the largest of the eight stops in 2019 for THE NBM SHOW,” says Dave Pomeroy, president of Broomfield, Colorado-based National Business Media, which produces THE NBM SHOWs. “We’ve been in Long Beach since the early nineties, but I am still impressed by the healthy mix of returning buyers and those new to the show.”
WRAPSCON has called Long Beach home for the past three NBM SHOWs. The only event put on globally for wrappers by wrappers, one need only look at the first- and second-place finishing teams in the event’s Wrap Olympics to see how far its popularity has spread. The winning two-man team consisted of a person from Oklahoma and a person from Hawaii, and the second-place team was made up of one Japanese person and his partner, who is from Bulgaria.
The remaining three stops for THE NBM SHOW in 2019 will be Sept. 12-14 in Columbus, Ohio; Oct. 11-12 in Denver; and Nov. 8-9 in Charlotte, North Carolina. Visit the website for more details.
