Many awards require special assembly to complete. The award is comprised of two components—the body and the base. The body of the award is engraved separately. Laser engraving should be done on the back side of the award so the engraving is viewed through the thick acrylic body. Be sure to mirror the engraving layout so it engraves backward.
After engraving, the body of an acrylic award can be glued to the base. A special glue and applicator make the job much easier to create professional results.
To glue the body of an award to the base, first set the body on top of the base and carefully check the alignment. Tilt the body of the award to one side and push the tip of the applicator under the body. Apply the glue to the back edge. Carefully tilt the award body, working the bubbles out. Remove any excess glue as quickly as possible.
