Advice for Engraving Ceramic Drinkware

Sara Thompson is a fabrication/laser specialist at JDS Industries. She has been with JDS for three years in the fabrication department taking on several roles including direct print, graphics coordinator, lasering, and new product testing. She graduated from the University of South Dakota with a bachelor of fine arts with an emphasis in graphic design. 

Engraving at a fairly low speed and a mid-power is best for ceramic. You don’t want to necessarily blast through it with high power because it can lead to chipping. Running it mid- to lower speed helps capture better details and leaves a nice, clean finish look to it so there should be little to no cleaning.
