The NBM Show has announced the opening of the 2012 show season in Dallas, Texas, May 10-12, followed by events in Indianapolis, Indiana, June 21-23; Long Beach, California, August 16-18; and Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, September 20-22.
NBM Shows has produced a graphics show in Texas for many years—with events in Arlington, Fort Worth, and most recently Austin—but show management says it is the first time the event has been located in the heart of downtown Dallas.
The decision to locate the first show in 2012 at the Dallas Convention Center is a proactive response to a market that continues to present challenges to the industry.
“We feel the Central Dallas location will benefit our exhibitors by providing a venue that offers convenience, as well as the credibility of exhibiting in a setting with international recognition,” says Sue Hueg, Director of Exhibitions & Events for NBM Shows. “We also feel it will benefit attendees who will find this location to be accessible, comfortable, modern and accommodating.”
The NBM Show will end the 2012 season in another new location: The Pennsylvania Convention Center in downtown Philadelphia. For many of the same reasons, NBM Shows management is staging an event for buyers on the East Coast in the heart of Downtown Philadelphia.
“We are continuing to evaluate how we serve exhibitors and attendees who choose to do business with us,” says Laurie Thiel, Director of Event Sales for The NBM Show. “Since the economic downturn that began in 2008, every company has had to make adjustments in order to maintain a presence in the industry. We feel it is our responsibility to respond to these changes in the business climate as well, by delivering the most value we are able to provide in a trade show experience.”
The NBM Show will continue its acclaimed Business Education Program in 2012, with several key adjustments, according to Linda Eddleman, Education Manager for The NBM Show. “We’ve found many of our attendees are interested in taking the next step after a one-hour class,” Eddleman says, “so we’ll be offering workshops to follow some of our more popular classes that will expose them to more in-depth training.” She says the expanded workshops are planned as three-hour and four-hour sessions.
Eddleman also points out that several exhibitors have already signed on to present popular “Education Station” sessions in the exhibit hall, where specific product applications and techniques are presented to anyone who shows up.
The NBM Show is a production of NBM Shows and is presented by Awards & Engraving magazine, Sign & Digital Graphics magazine and Printwear magazine, the leading industry publications serving the awards, sign and decorated apparel graphics industries.

Thanks for asking the question bill_2, I appreciate the feedback. Yes, the southeast is certainly a viable market and we want to be sure to give readers, attendees and exhibitors an opportunity to do business there. Unfortunately, we can't accomplish all objectives in a single year so we have to stretch the calendar a bit. We aren't giving up on the southeast, just giving it a bit of a break. With the economic environment changing and a new, positive outlook into the future, you can bet we'll be taking a good look at how we can service that part of the country. We'll make sure to keep you updated WHEN we go back. If you have other questions, feel free to contact me and thanks again for your interest.

Where is the Southeast show? You moved to Baltimore from Charlotte in 2011 and went head to head with ISS Atlanta. Now the move is to Philadelphia. Is the Southeast not a viable market?
