Michael Kaminsky, co-president of
RPL Supplies, recently helped out
Joe Ruback, an old friend from Little League days. Known as
The License Plate Guy, Ruback routines wears more than a dozen vanity license plates to every Giants game—and has for the past nine years.
The New York Giants played the New England Patriots in this year’s Super Bowl, and U.S. Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano had warned fans planning to attend the game that they would be required to pass through metal detectors before entering the stadium.
Kaminksy knew that Ruback might not be allowed to wear his metal license plates into the stadium, so since RPL Supplies specializes in dye-sublimation printing, he offered to create free plastic duplicates, as well as a set he made with a lighter metal.

Ruback was happy to have the option, so he agreed, and Kaminsky created the two sets of duplicates, as well as smaller plastic versions for Ruback's eight-year-old daughter,
Isabella.
