Epilog Laser, a leading producer of CO2 and fiber laser engraving and cutting systems, and Instructables.com have announced that Andy Rawson, Edwardsville, Illinois, is the grand-prize winner in the fourth installment of the Epilog Challenge. Rawson will receive a new Epilog Zing 16 Laser engraving/cutting system for his inventive “Build a Laser 3D Printer – Stereolithography at Home” instructable. The winning entry was one of 812 instructables entered in the fourth Epilog Challenge, almost double the number of entries of the previous challenge.
“I am so excited about winning the Zing 16,” Rawson said. “I found out about winning the day before my birthday, so it was an incredible present. The Epilog Challenge was the reason I actually got this project done; I think it is a great motivator,” he said.
“Once again I’m thoroughly impressed by the quality instructables submitted in this challenge,” said Mike Dean, vice president of sales and marketing for Epilog Laser. “The creativity and ingenuity that went into some of these projects is amazing, and I can’t wait to see what Andy will do with his Epilog Zing 16 Laser.”
First prize winners include: Animatronic Stargate Helmet, How to Build and Fly a Paramotor - Safely and Inexpensively, and The Tree Climbing Robot. For more information on Epilog Laser, visit
